Certificate of Merit Award

Submitted by admin on Mon, 2008/02/04 - 12:40pm.

Awarding Body:

Canadian Association of Medical Education (CAME)

Promotes, recognizes, and rewards faculty committed to medical education in Canadian medical schools. The CAME Certificate of Merit Award consists of a certificate and CAME membership for one year, or a free year of membership for those who are already members. All contributors to medical education in each school are eligible (undergraduate, postgraduate, CME). Recipients need not be members of CAME. Recipients have made a valuable contribution to medical education in their school (teaching, evaluation, leadership, course coordination, etc.) but have not previously been nationally rewarded for that contribution. They also are not normally administrators within the school (e.g. assistant/associate deans). A committee set up by the local CAME representative identifies and selects eligible candidates at each Canadian medical school. The CAME executive committee then selects the winner(s). The number of awards to be given in any year will be determined by the CAME Executive each year. Winners are announced at the CAME annual business meeting and through other appropriate channels.
