Great teachers involve their students meaningfully in the course. How do you engage your students?

I believe it is important to engage students in the learning process. Most students have difficulty sitting in a 45-minute lecture imbibing information passively. The learning experience is diluted further if they have to spend all their time taking notes rather than listening. I engage students in the following ways.

-Provide a handout of lecture notes
-Ask questions throughout the lecture
-Pose questions or problems based on the information being taught.
